WHAT         PEOPLE

David has over three decades of devising, choreography and performance with national and international touring companies including; Janet Smith & Dancers/Motionhouse/ Earthfall. David is a skilled and experienced project manager having worked freelance for many years and across professional dance/performing arts settings. He has delivered numerous regional and national arts projects, including; working with young people, marginalised groups, vulnerable children and older people, with many participants living with physical and mental health challenges.

Over the past 5 years, David has been working within the UK & USA criminal justice systems, exploring with prison residents co-created ways of devising movement, words and performance which shares lived experience and allyship within prison settings.

David is currently Course Leader for Expressive Arts at ALP Special School Nuneaton working across all phases with children with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities.

Current & ongoing practice-based research: developing a highly specialised and broad SEND expressive arts provision; devising/performance with intergenerational participants; exploring how communities can be empowered through co-creation in participatory arts work; continuing project work across prison and probation service.
